Ripoff false promises

I have been a customer of HFC since 2000. Borrowed approximately $15, 000 at 16% for ten years and still owe $23, 000! Have had some financial difficulties and had our loan rewritten and deferred and were notified after the fact. At one point, we were being harrassed by their collection agency, who threatened to take our home. (They have the second mortgage)

we were told that our loan could be refinanced at a lower rate for the same time remaining on the original loan and we could contact the office after we were current. When we contacted them, we were told that the main office refused our account, stating that we were making enough money to cover the payments.

No other institute will look at us, as they overextended the equity on our property and gave us more than we should have borrowed. We still have seven years to pay back. Could someone please help.
