I'm sure most of you are familiar with the "Movie Extra" work where one can get paid for being an extra in various films. Flyerman (Mark Vistorino) advertises his business (Flyerman Productions) as a Photographer to help the general public attain such a job. What he doesnt mention is the outrageous prices he charges, bit by bit. Take my own case as example.
I decide to give it a go. Nowhere does the original ad mention me having to pay any fees. I call up, and he promptly tells me I will have to pay a "one-time" fee of $150 ($175 with "taxes"), which I can "earn back no problem". So being somewhat naive and new to this, I agree. I pay, photos are taken, all seems well. Then I get a call from the agency he sends photos too, and am asked to pay another $100 to sign up with them (making it a total of $275 so far). Alrighty. Then I find out I need him to make 25 copies of the original picture he took, which he asks another $125 from me ($400). Then he sends said pictures early, at which point he says there is a fee for sending them in...at which point I say forget it.
It's been months now. No call-backs, no nothing. $400 in the red, and nothing to show for it. Complete ripoff. I do a bit of research into other such companies, and find that in most you pay as little as $50 for this whole process. Right. Avoid "Flyerman" at all costs people, utter scam.
