Bluebird Cabs No. 19
Taxi driver didn't show up

Dear Sir Madam

Letter of Complaint

I write to you with reference to my dreadful experience with Bluebird Cabs No. 19 as of July 19, Saturday in Victoria, B.C. I cruised with Norwegian Pearl to Alaska and disembarked in Victoria on July 19, 2008 at about 6:30pm. I boarded taxi No. 19 at the cruise terminal to Butchart Garden. A single trip of 30 minutes charged $51 per cab. The taxi driver agreed to pick us up for our return trip at 10:30pm after the firework show. The beautiful firework show ended at 10:15pm and I waited for the taxi at the entrance at 10:30pm. When the taxi failed to arrive 10 minutes after the agreed time, I promptly called the cell phone of the taxi driver on 250-885-8184. Once I revealed my name, the line was cut and the driver hung up on me. I called again and the line was made unavailable. I was anxious because I had to board the ship before 11:30pm.

I was then forced to take the downtown city bus No. 75 at 11:00pm without knowing how long it would take to reach my destination. I was already preparing to not make the boarding time and be left behind in Victoria. But I was fortunate enough to bump into a considerate bus driver who directed me to a vacant yellow cab in the downtown area by 11:40pm. I eventually arrived at the pier at 11:50pm with the ship preparing to pull up the gangway and leave. They did end up delaying the departure time just for my family and I.

But this dreadful experience really was not our fault and had the Bluebird cab kept his promise, we would not have had to go through these dramatic events that left my elderly parents in shock and exhausted.

I am totally disappointed at how the taxi driver handled this matter with no sense of responsibility. If you could look into this matter, I will appreciate it very much.

Yours Sincerely,

Caleb Cheng
