Unfortunately in December we decided to become members of Global Direct Savings aka GDS. We encountered nothing but problems from the get go. We never received our promised smart pad. The website did not accomodate Canadian clientele, we were told that it would but that never happened. We needed a zip code or State to take advantage of some of their deals. We found cheaper travel online from other sites and they could not come close to what we found. What was offered was only in the States and unfortunately we can not travel in the States which we expressed from the onset of the contract. Parts of their website did not work at times and no one could assist us to have it fixed.
Recently I was told that none of the money we sent was received by the Canadian counterpart. I was also informed that the person that sold us the package had 55 fraud charges against him in Brampton and 6 more in St. Catherines. Apparently he shouldn't even be selling these packages in Canada but still is. This information was given to me by his co-worker as well as I was directed to an article by the Ministry of Consumer Services. The article is on their website titled Vacation Time Share Operation Charged Under Consumer Protection Act. W5 also ran a 5 part series on this individual as well as others. The title of that show was Paradise Lost which can still be viewed online.
It seems it may be too late for us to recoop our money but I want everyone to know that this company may not be as it appears. If you are considering joining I suggest you do your homework unlike us, we are doing our homework a little too late.
