Scam - Didn't Stop Payments

Dear Readers,

In March of 2008 I joined Extreme Fitness at the North York location in Toronto. In Feb. of 2009 I signed a document cancelling my membership. Payments continued for 4 months for both my fiancee and I and I was constantly told that no record of our cancellation was on file. They scammed over $600 from me and I will never use their facilities again.

Prior to my cancellation...

The general manager did not care why I was upset and wanted to cancel my membership after the year. In cancelling I threw away roughly $1k in unused prepaid personal training. The sales team reminds me of the plaid jacket smooth talking used car salesmen of the 80's. The general manager is the same and didn't even ask why I was upset and wanted to cancel... he kept looking around the room or to people outside the office in which we were having a duscussion. Instead he kept offering me his "special family rate" about 10 times before he gave up and handed me the cancellation documents.

My personal trainer at the location told me everytime we worked out together that I shouldn't have joined and that the management are scammers and he hates them. I paid for 8 sessions with a personal trainer yet 12 sessions were entered into the computer and I was told it was a glitch. It took months for it to be resolved and my personal trainer said they do it to everyone.
