In June 2008 I had Great Lengths Hair Extensions applied to my hair by the owner of Ole' Hairstudio {Rena} in Spruce Grove, Alberta, Canada.

Within the first three days the extensions began falling out. I was extremely cautious in handling the hair and was sure to follow the instructions very carefully. The extensions continued to fall out inspite of this care. The owner/technician {Rena} was on holidays for a month after the application. I tried to leave messages on her voice mail but the voice mail box was full. When she returned from her holiday I made an appointment to chat with her about what had happened and to try and work through the possible causes of the problem extensions. I was hoping she would provide me with some sort of refund or offer me some service to compensate for at least some of the lost money {almost 1400.00}.

When I arrived at the salon ready to have a polite and congenial conversation I was quick to realize that this was obviously not Rena's intention. She was extremely hostile towards me. Her words were filled with verbal attacks and accusations that I was mistreating the hair and not telling the truth. When I asked for an opportunity to share my side, she just continued with the verbal attacks. She even went so far as to verbally attack me on a personal level which really hurt considering she does not know me outside of the professional salon environment. She made her point very clear {with much hostility} that it was my fault and she would offer absolutely nothing in return.

I just cannot fathom the anger and bitterness that were thrown at me by someone who is supposed to be a professional. If I had come into the salon verbally attacking her, I might be able to understand her behavior; however, when I entered the salon I greeted her politely and was really just hoping to have some positive dialogue.

At this point, the lost money is not even that big of an issue. I just cannot why or how she could have treated me in such a horrific and disrespectful manner. Even as I was leaving the salon in tears, I could hear her yelling at me from the closed door. Unfortunately, it was just myself, Rena {owner} and one of her employees in the salon at the time which really allowed her the opportunity to tear me apart without jeapordizing her reputation.
