Telus
Cannot fulfill their part of the contract yet I have to pay for it! Kamloops

I have been a Telus customer for over 20 years and can not believe that I am now in a fight with Telus.
In 2006 we moved to Kamloops and got Telus high speed internet. We had been living in Terrace and Telus high speed was not available in our neighbourhood therefore we had high speed provided by the cable company.

I was glad to be moving to an area where I would be able to get my land line and internet both provided by Telus. Love having only one bill to deal with. When I ordered my service I was informed that I would be able to get a Dell flat screen monitor if I signed up for a 3 year contract. I agreed to this as I knew we would be in the Kamloops area for at least that amount of time if not longer.

In 2008 we purchased a home in a small community just outside of Kamloops. When I phoned to update our account I was informed that Telus did not have high speed in our community, and therefore I could only get dial up. Not wanting to go back to the dark ages of dial up I was forced to receive my high speed through the cable provider.

I recieved a phone call from Telus loyalty retention department and was informed that I would have to pay $120.00 for the monitor that I had received with my original contract. I told them that I would return the monitor, (as I was not willing to pay the $120.00 for a 2 year old monitor). I was informed that returning it was not an option. They said that Telus waiving the $120.00 contract fee was all that they could do and they were willing to do that since they could not provide the service I was wanting.

When speaking to the Telus representative I asked "Why was I being penalized, when I had wanted to stay with their company and they were not able to provide the service I had been receiving from them? " Telus keeps stating that the waiving of half of the disconnection fee ($240.00) is all that they can do. I feel that is a load of crap since I'm certain that they did not even pay $120.00 for that monitor when they purchased it to begin with.

They are now able to give away complete computer systems for the same 3 year contract. They broke the contract, I did not and I should not have to pay!!!

Upset with Telus!!
