FACTS:
"The little Ragdoll kitten was purchase on Dec. 28/04.
The home reeked unbearably of cat urine. Only the kitten and an old Himalayan were upstairs. The cattery was downstairs but I did not see it. I had my two kids with me and we paid $600 cash (my kids's savings from over a year) and received no receipt, only a generic medical record and business card. She assured me that there was a health guarantee (as her web site also states) and that I would receive his pedigree papers upon his neutering.

I took him to the vet the next day because he was underweight and his coat was very thin. He also sneezed a lot. At first the vet said he seemed OK (lungs clear, etc.) but he was TOO clean. (Ears had been cleaned so they could not get a swab.) A few days later he developed an ear infection so I took him back and another doctor took blood samples because he had gingivitis and the sneezing hadn't stopped.

He was also coughing and sleeping a lot. I emailed Phyllis and asked her about the sneezing and sleeping lots, and she said kittens sneeze when they are nervous and that they also sleep a lot. We emailed back and forth a few times. The blood results came back a few days later and it was shown that his globulin levels were very high.
The doctor felt that it could be FIP and took more blood for a corona titre. I emailed Phyllis again and told her I wanted to return the kitten because the vet said that it could turn out to be very expensive to raise a kitten with this many health problems. From this moment on I have never spoken to Phyllis again despite my leaving countless voice messages for her and sending countless emails.

She refuses to speak to me and has her little daughter tell me that she is not home. Yet she continues to advertise in the daily paper every day. The corona titre came back at 1/1600 which is not conclusively FIP (it never is) but the vet feels that chances are he has FIP.
Since then I have found another woman who purchased a kitte n from Phyllis around the same time and has the same problems, except she hasn't gone for an official diagnosis.

She paid $600 and also didn't receive a receipt, but she paid by cheque and is willing to show the cheque as proof of purchase. She was told by Phyllis that she has 12 breeding cats in her basement. This woman's kitten is showing exactly the same symptoms as mine but it is from a different litter. My kitten is now a lot healthier-looking (despite frequent diarrhea) but the latest blood tests show that his liver enzymes are problematic and the vet continues to feel that this points to FIP.

I don't want my money back because I will never give up my cat now. He is a part of the family and even if he does die, his last days will be the best anyone can give him.
