Buyers BEWARE:
I WAS a Loyal customer of Odyssey Jewelers Until a Lady Named Jessie who claims to be the manager of the store sold me a watch on layaway. I was in the store about 5 days before the actual purchase looking at the watch, she saw that I really liked it and gave me a business card with the style number and price which was $495.00 plus 20% off. when I came back later to purchase the watch, I was happy to find the sign that said the watches were still 20% off. I put a small amount of $20 down just to make sure no one else comes in and buys it, Because I had done business there before I didnt even look at the receipt. When I got home I was browsing over the receipt of my purchase to find that she had sole me the watch for the original price. The total came to approx. $500 no 20% off. I phoned her right away and told her their must have been some mistake because of the price quoted with the 20% off the bill didnt add up. She told me It was that much because their sale had ended and the watches were no longer 20% off. I then told her I had seen the sign still up saying 20% off, she said the computer has locked the sale out and they just "FORGOT" to take down the sign (ILLEGAL) she also said the watch is now 595.00 and she just made a mistak about the price as well. I worked in sales and I know their is a such thing as "OVERRIDE" to keep customers happy when they are been mislead. I also know the consumers rights laws, and the misleading price is illegal too and I had a card which she had written on to prove it. I told jessie because of her "MISTAKE" I no longer wanted the watch and to cancel the sale, when I came in the next day to retrieve my money the lady at first refused to give my twenty dollars back, I told her because she broke the law she could Either honour her original quote and sale or give me back my refund CASH not store credit like she wanted it to be.
After showing her the card and telling her if she didnt do As I wished I would pursue this further legally, she took the card as if to look at what was writeen then took a pen and crossed off the price and wrote "MISTAKE". She reluctently gave me my money back. The sign for 20% off watches was still there..
HMMMM... SO mething is very shady about the company and its manager. I asked to speak to the district manager and head office and she claimed to be all... YEAH!!! SHe also said she didnt care if she lost a customer (A customer who is getting engaged and found a 28oodollar set there) If I was a manager I would CARE about my business, Customers are the ones putting dollars into my paycheck!!! Its almost like its rocket science to some people!!! THEY JUST DONT GET THE IMPORTANCE OF HAPPY CUSTOMERS AND WORD OF MOUTH!!!
Be very VERY careful when you shop here, I also looked into another jeweler company that sold the EXACT same watch for the origianlly quoted price of $495.00 PLUS 30% off!!!
My Advice is to investigate before spending your HARD EARNED MONEY there are to many shady "managers" out there waiting to take it at any cost!!!
