Old Town Tavern
Unfair gaming

My husband and i had two tickets on the harley davidson elimination draw that took place at the Old Town Tavern on March 26, 2011. We got down to the final three numbers, and then at the end thought we had one and when the pulled the ticket from the bin, it wasn't our ticket. They had drawn our ticket earlier (unheard or unseen by us), and stapled it over another number (the winning number). Our number was 175; his was 157. The problem i have is that when they got down to that final three, they said they were going to verify the tickets, and apparently they did not or they would have discovered their mistake. This whole thing was poorly run, and obviously the people they had looking after the books, and stapling the numbers up, were not doing their job either. Wow, what a let down. I don't mind losing, clearly we were not the last number in, but we sat there on pins and needles for hours, thinking we were still in the draw for the bike. Without so much as an apology, we went home empty handed. When we approaced the owners on March 28th, to give them a chance to apologize and offer us some kind of compensation for what they put us through, the said there was nothing they could do. These people need a wake up call. Hire people who know what they are doing to look after things. When we were down to the final three, we were offered 5000 dollars for our ticket, and when it got down to two, we were offered 8000 dollars. How would that person have felt if we had taken that money and they had purchased a ticket that had already been drawn. Poorly poorly run. I think the lottery commission should really look closely at this before they ever issue these people another liscense for anything of this kind, and if they do get the liscense, future participants, keep your eye on things, because take it from me it can all go horribly wrong.
