Shady business. I was shown an apartment for rent that had holes in the wall, bare drywall, and drywall mud showing. I asked if it would be painted, I was told that I could paint it white but I'd have to by the paint and do the work myself. Which wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the "only white" part of all that. I was also told at the viewing that I'd be able to rent for about a year and a half or so before they would want to renovate it into condos, but at the office where I was supposed to sign a lease I voiced my complaint about the paint again and he changed his tune twice, from saying I'd only be there for 6months to suddenly saying he'd rather keep it empty cause they're renovating right away. The office of the business itself is incredibly run down with holes everywhere, tattered flooring, and a makeshift counter that looked like it was slapped together with whatever scrap they could find. I wasn't sure if I was even in the right place until I asked. I would've walked away at the viewing but I was desperate for a place to live, even so, too many red flags went up when I was at the office and despite my urgent need for a home I had to walk away.
