Canada Post
Non payment of contact wages

I recently worked for a 2 week period in April 2012. A contract was signed. Canada Post has not paid vacation pay as per the contract and when I contacted them, I was told it would be paid in June 2012. It wasn't paid and I call them again and they told me I was only entitled to 4% even though the contract stated 6% and it would not be paid until June 2013. I told them that I had a contract which stated vacation pay would be paid at the end of the employment. It is a straight forward contract and they are telling me an investigation has to be launched. I tried to call the union to get their help, since I had already paid $80 in union fees for 33 hours of work, I figured the least they could do was help with this. The amount we are talking about is less than $50. I have left messages with the nation union and the London Representative, but no one has called back. I had even called the person that signed the contract and they told me there was nothing they could do. I told them it was unfortunate, because the way Canada Post treats their employees would stop me from working for them again. If they can't even stand by their contract, how can I trust them to do their jobs properly. I am very greatful for electronic mail as I will now start using that more than the mail. Hand delivery when possible will be done. I will do everything possible to not use their services and will let everyone I know what kind of treatment Canada Post gives their employees.

Great job Canada Post, you should consider running in Politics, you've learned the game well.
