Re: Appliance Delivery Service. I purchased a major appliance from a big box appliance retailer and agreed to pay $50 to have the appliance delivered to my home. The delivery was contracted out to Distribution Nordix who provides delivery services to many of the big box retailers. My appliance arrived and was roughly dragged onto the road in front of my house, and the jostled contents nearly fell out onto the road. My new appliance was covered with dirty smudges and handprints - and upon close examiniation had deep scratches on the handle and door.
I complained to the retailer who then put me in touch with Distribution Nordix. My claim was handled by an extremely rude woman, who ensured me she would 'conduct' her own 'investigation'. Surprisingly, she denied any responsibility for the damage or substandard delivery, closed my file and hung up on me.

So if you are considering home delivery for your new appliances or furniture ask the name of the company that your retailer has contracted, and avoid using Distribution Nordix. Instead, hire your own service - it will save you the added grief dealing with damaged merchandise and extremely rude and unprofessional delivery men and customer service personnel.
