I took my car to Volvo of Oakville to be serviced in advance of a drive to Winnipeg. I was informed there was a defective part called the "belly pan" which was removed without notice or consent. They were unable to replace the part because it was not in stock, however I was told it would not affect my travel plans... The car broke down and was towed to Volvo of Winnipeg where they determined it was the missing belly pan that allowed debris into the engine, displacing the timing belt, leading to $4855 of damage.

Volvo of Oakville has challenged the competency of Volvo of Winnipeg. In addition, they have denied that they told me I could travel to Winnipeg without the belly pan, however, I have an audio recording of the technician recommending I travel to Winnipeg without it. Do yourself a favor and do not have your car serviced here. Search the Better Business Bureau to read the detailed complaint.
