Nigel Goddard was my "art consultant" that led me down the path of bad investment. I too was targeted because of easy access and my profession. I was given names of famous artists and promised quick returns of great profits. My dealings began in 2007 and I bought 10 pieces of numbered signed prints. Google and e-bay were not around to help me check them out, wish they had been. When I was ready to sell some pieces all of a sudden they were not rising in their position on the sale list, most were in close, but not close enough... then there was a "panic about the possibility of major computer crashes etc when year 2000 was nearing". When that passed there were new reasons for the lack of demand for these art pieces.
None of them ever sold at least through Galerie Concorde. I sold a couple on e-bay for maybe 30pct of purchase price and I still have the rest.
Galerie had the audacity to call me at work about 3 years ago and offer me the latest get rich scheme, this time original paintings by famous artists. I told them I wasn't interested in getting ripped off again. They are obviously still plying their trade. It needs to stop
