Mikkleson's Auto Electric
Nothing else was wrong with my van except a squealing noise, that of a spring

On April 2008 I had a problem with my 97 Dodge Caravan Sport SE, I was told that Mikkelson's comes highly recommended from word of mouth. I took my vehicle in and spoke with a guy named Tim about this springy noise on my left side of the wheel. I told him there was nothing else wrong with my van, could it be my shocks? He said probably not, but bring it in and let's have a look.

So I drop it off and I am without my van for 2 days. They did a diagnostic test and found that I had 50% left on my brakes in the back and 30% left on my front brakes. So I asked I should be ok with 30% and he said it wouldn't hurt to change them, that way you will be on the safe side. So I asked them how much is this going to cost me?

They quoted me a price and I gave them the go ahead to fix it.

Labour description replace front struts & mounts 3.0h@$90/hr=$270G, Replace rear brakeshoes & cylinders 2.0h@$90.00/hr$180.00g-Parts description: WC14136 wheel cylinders$54.34G/17714R Rear brake shoes$92.31G, 503-195Front struts$250.18G, 902945 strutmounts$216.16G, Brake fluid$10. I paid them $1000 by debit and $150.26 in cash. I drive my van home, only to find more problems with it. I phoned and spoke Tim saying, that there was new problems, what's up with that? I told him that the steering wheel column is making strange noises now, the under carriage is rubbing together loudly and so is the front suspension.

So Tim says to bring it by when you can, he says its probably not dangerous, you can keep driving it. For some reason I knew something was wrong and I couldn't put my finger on it, so I continued to trust them and drive it like they said. I made a appointment and I brought it back May 12th, they had my van for 3 days.

Again I gave them permission to check these things out. He phones me to say that this is what's wrong with it. Ok so I'm trusting him even though something isn't right, telling him to go ahead and diagnose what is wrong, he tells me what needs to be repaired, quotes me a price, well within my budget, so I said go ahead and fix it, even though something isn't right, so I brush it off as nothing. They diagnose and repair steering wheel rack 3.2h@$90.00/hr=$288.00G, they did a wheel alignment when it should of been done the first time, would of saved me time, money wise (rotate tires($129.94G, 50-2297-Rack & Pinion$345.63=$841.12.

I paid Mikkleson's $700 in cash and I still owed them $141.12.By this time, the new problem on the left side hadn't been touched, it was still occuring, I again didn't feel good about this, thinking when they first fixed the first problem that should of been the end of it, I should drive away a happy satisfied customer, but I wasn't. More and more things were breaking down, I thought how could this be, I have always taken very good care of this vehicle, had it serviced at my dealership or minute lube for oil changes, they were the cheapest I knew.

But since they come highly recommended, I'm begining to think not, I met 2 other people who said they were the same, that left and right their vehicle was breaking down and was told that this was wrong, cost $1200, this was breaking down, cost $2200, you need a new gas cap, labour was $212 and gas cap $54. Since they all have to make a quota each month, like any dealership garage, how could they Jeopardize my vehicle, causing it to break down left and right, when there wasn't anything wrong with it in the first place. Was it because I said I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT VEHICLES?

Who would of known that if something broke down, would I ever be able to prove it was them, Yes, because I have witnesses that knows what my vehicle sounds like, they can prove that I took very well care of it.
