Asked for a refund of "upfront fee", still haven't received it

I received a call from "Andrew Moore" at McFee Advisors telling me that I fot approved for a 12000 USD loan that I had applied for. The interest rate would be 6.5% and payable in 48 months but I would need to pay an upfront fee of 1000 USD but the fee would then be aplied as a payment six months down the road.

I went and sent via Moneygram the 1000 USD fee and awaited for them to transfer the loan into my bank account. A few days went by, no call or anything from them, so I called inquiring when the funds would be transferred, that's when they told me that I had applied at a sister company and was approved for the same loan and that they would not be able to give me a loan unless I sent another 775 USD to secure the already secured loan (don't forget, I had already sent them 1000 USD a few days earlier.)

I waited another couple of days and nothing was transfered, so I called again. Then they said that they needed additional money, that's when I said forget it, I want a refund, then "Andrew" told me that it would take 10-15 business days and I would receive it "in the mail". I asked him how come they couldn't just transfer it to my bank since they have the information already, and "Andrew" said it was not their policy to do that. What kind of crap is that?

To date I have not received any of the money that I sent and the 800-517-7133 number gives a generic greeting so I don't even know if the company still exists. I have faxed letters and even sent them one via US Postal and no responses either. I have sent them emails, 2 to be exact to no avail. At this point, I feel that I am out the money that I sent but I am still trying to see if I can get it back.

So please, to anyone that gets a call from these people, be aware.
