We received a letter from Box Lotto claiming we won 95, 000.00 from a Canadian Lottery. Along with the letter came a check for 2, 500.00. The check represents a 2, 500.00 canadian tax in which we had to pay before the 95, 000.00 could be dispursed to us.
Mr. David West instructed us to Western Union 2, 500. to him and the 95, 000.00 would be Western Union back to us. We told him we would have to wait for the 2, 500.00 check they had sent us to clear at the bank. He said there is a time constraint and that we would have to send our own money. We told him we dont have that kind of money, so he asked how much can we send. We said none and that we will wait for the check to clear.
In the mean-time my husband called his dad to tell him what was happening. At that time we found out there was as article in the Southtown about this very same scam.
I called Mr. David West back and told him I know that this was all a scam. He told me he didnt want my F'in money and hung up on me. I called him back, at that time he used endless obsenities at me. This is a scam out of Canada that only sends these letters to people in the United States. Warning to all.
