I am totally disgusted at this scam.. My husband was on a website, and this pop-up came up (husband said it didn't look like a regular pop-up as we have pop-up blocker) and asked him to scan for viruses.. This is not unusual as we have an antivirus program that asks us periodically to run a scan. My husband clicked on "scan now" thinking he was doing nothing wrong. All of a sudden, there were red folders in the task bar, and things kept popping up saying that I had 27 viruses, and named them in order, and showed different issues with each of my drives. My husband called me down to look at it, and because it was already on the task bar, I thought that it was an actual issue that needed fixing.. So, I kept opening the file, and it kept taking me to a spot to give my credit card info. I was panicking because I've never had this happen before, and it kept telling me that my personal information was being stolen. What a joke!! And stupid me thought that it was my current antivirus that needed to be renewed, so I entered my credit card info and paid a total of $111.00 CAD for this program. Upon further researching it, it looks as though my current antivirus program was doing the job, and for free.. This is totally believable and I think it's disgusting. You guys should be ashamed of yourself. Go get some real work and stop doing this to people! And, I looked in the task bar, and the program is nowhere to be found. I am calling the credit card company to get my money back. Someone has to find and shut these people down!!! Whoever is doing this really needs to get a life and stop trying to screw people over.. I have learned my lesson the hard way, please don't make the same mistake..
