Rogers
Poor service!

Am I being ripped off big time? I needed internet service for one month so I contacted Rogers. Here is what I was told.

$44.95 for express internet, no installation charge.

$24.97 for basic TV service, no “box” whatever that is.

$3 rental for the internet modem.

I did some rough math. $45 $25 $3=$73. Add the tax and you are looking at approximately $84. I figured that I could afford that for one month so I agreed.

To my surprise, when my bill arrived, it was for the amount of $120.10, a difference of $40. To some that is a small amount, but for me it is a lot of money, and to Rogers, it could add up to millions.

After a lengthy conversation with Rogers, on my cell phone, they could not understand one of the charges. They there was something about billing periods. Since I could not afford the extra charges, I wanted to cancel immediately. However, I was told that I have to give them 30 days notice in order to cancel the service. In other words, I am stuck with a bill for services I did not bargain for.

Initially. I just wanted to cancel the TV service and keep the internet so that I could afford it, but that was no deal. Thirty days was the answer. I didn’t care for the TV service anyway because of the poor programming, but unfortunately I got stuck with it.

Prior to the installation, they did not explain anything about the 30 days notice. They did not explain anything about their strange billing period conundrum.

Friends, beware of Rogers. Are they are out to milk the public? What do you think? Shall I ever choose Rogers ever again? What would you do?
