I found a program on my computer which I do not recall ever seeing, " Regcure". It said free download (to repair computer problems/ performance.)
I then found that it was a computer performance enhancement/repair. I downloaded it only to find it was not free as it charges to "fix" the errors it finds. After reading it I thought I was getting 5 different downloads for $39.00. so went ahead. They gave me 5 #'s (licenses) to use. After the first one called RegCure PC Optimizer, scan, it found over one thousand errors then "fixed" some. On an immediate second scan, it kept finding more. I found it weird that it does this in seconds and then also charged me for a second download called Data Recovery Pro - which I never agreed to, for another $9.97.My total then came to $49, not $39.
When I tried to undo or cancel I could not get in touch and there is no phone # provided. Email is impossible as you can't get to their site except to purchase. I also read that my order, or download expires 2 days later (Aug. 13) and I had not even downloaded anything except the supposedly free one. Makes me believe that I am being charged regardless, and only had 2 days to get the service downloaded. What then? It disappears leaving me with no recourse?
Those other 4 licenses or numbers are all extras not part of the fee as I thought.
I got even more upset when I saw that it might b a scam or ripoff and I could not retract anything or get in contact with that company. My next move will be to contact my CC company about the charge or charges.
Also when I tried to print all the original pages as I went along at the beginning, it only printed the first one, and the others were colored but blank. I have no problem with my printer.
I hope this helps someone else avoid the trap of false advertising and paying for something you don't get or benefit from..
