I order a Domain name for 5 years and the mid-range webhosting service last friday Feb 17, 2012. I received the invoice for $117.95 which I paid by VISA. The service I paid for also includes a free website development tool. I was unable to log on to set up my website and submitted 3 support tickets for help on Feb 17, 18 and 19/12.
On Feb 20/12 I checked to see if the Domain name I paid for was still available, and it was! Okanagan Hosting has not registered the Domain I paid for or respond to my requests for support. I have also phoned twice, left phone messages but have not heard back.
I contacted the Better Business Bureau for help (CASE#: 1248406), and they tried contacting Okanagann Hosting to get them to return my money and to cancel any further service. The BBB did not hear back and stated that they had numerous complaints about this company.
In early March Okanagann Hosting billed my VISA again for services never received. I contacted VISA who scripted an email for me asking that Okanagann Hosting stop using my VISA number. To be safe, VISA advised that I cancel my VISA card, this I did.
I have also contacted Consumer Protection BC (Inquiry Number 47844) asking for help as I felt that Okanagan Hosting would continue to bill even though I have never received any service and have requested cancellation several times.
On April 16/12 I received another email from Okanagann Hosting requesting payment for the month of April, fortunately I cancelled my VISA.
I am very concerned that this is not a legitimate business and that it Okanagann Hosting will not stop sending invoices, which could ultimately cause me more problems.
Could you please look into this for me. I don't want my money back, I just want then to leave me alone. I have kept records of everything mentioned above.
Would it also help to get Canada Revenue Agency involved, as there is something not right about this, I have checked the internet and several our people are experiencing similar problems with the company. It seems like a fraudulent company.
