We visited and ordered Denver table and chairs at The Brick - Richmond Hill - Ontario Store on April 6, 2010. We collected the order on April 8, 10. On bringing it home and setting it up piece by piece, we discovered that the table your staff had ordered was wrong - instead of the bar table base, we were given the ordinary 3' table base.
We had rushed for the bar set, as our very hi-end business clients were visiting us for cocktails.
My husband and daughter went to the said store with a request to help us out - instead they returned home most disgruntled that the Customer service person was the rudest and full of attitude and authority. We were prepared to take the floor model which we generally would not accept. The Customer Service Manager was not prepared to listen and most unaccommodative adn above all rude.
As the situation was truly desperate, I called The Brick Richmond Hill store on April 9 at 10:50 am to see if I could manage to convince her - the customer service Manager Ms Saye (she said her name) was so rude and kept repeating that I was 'patronizing' her - it was like she was trying a new word on me - she said it was the sales person's mistake and that she said 'sorry' and that we should bring it all back and get refund. Now, are we talking of refund or help to solve our problem which was on account of The Brick.
Then, she very rudely mentioned that if we were so desperate, we should go to the clearance center in Mississauga and pick up the table ourselves. So, we were expected to leave all our evening arrangements and speed from Richmond Hill to Mississauga. We are truly appalled by this.
We have quite some furniture and appliances from The Brick and we have 'patronized' The Brick.
The question is - what would be our word of mouth publicity? Are we tempted to publicize this?
We have elaborated the whole episode to our guests and will continue to do so.
Ms Saye, it seems works for the opposition of The Brick to behave this way.
My husband and I are also business owners and such attitude is unacceptable.
This person could damage the reputation of a company and put advertising dollars to waste.
