About US: Afghanistan Health & Education Charity: A Canadian Registered Organization Afghanistan Health & Education Charity (AHEC), a foundation registered by the Canadian government. Our primary objective is to deliver help to the neediest parts of Afghanistan, such as starting from the rural parts of Afghanistan where help is needed the most, then expand to less needed areas. Afghanistan Health & Education is also registered in Afghanistan, this enables us to deliver assistance to all segments of Afghan society. Our aim is to deliver help to every corner of Afghanistan, where help is needed most urgently, We have established strong relationship with the Ministry of Education of Afghanistan and with the Minister of Health of Afghanistan. These relationships allow us to maximize the impact of AHEC donations by determining how and where donations can be most useful, thus achieving best results within the current Afghan social structure. For the past four years, every Summer the President of Afghanistan Health & Education (Tahera Qurban Ali), has been travelling extensively in different parts of Afghanistan to assess where help is needed the most, our executive directors will continue to go to Afghanistan yearly, in order to ensure that the donations have reached and will be reaching its intended recipients. Afghanistan Health & Education Charity has also recruited reliable staff and volunteers, who will monitor the distribution and operation of the Organization at all times and levels. Birth of Afghan Health & Education Tahera Qurban-Ali, the founder and president of AHEC, was born in Afghanistan. She is a Canadian citizen, resident in the Toronto area since 1991. She began her involvement by helping Afghan refugees in Iran from 1996-2003. Since the summer of 2003 she has visited and worked extensively in rural Afghanistan as well as cities such as Herat, Mazare – Sharif, Jalallabad, Kabul, Urouzgan and Bamian. Dykundi Ms. Qurban-Ali has also visited the prisons and educational systems along with the health clinics of Afghanistan. From her involvement with Afghan refugees along with her observation of rural and urban life in Afghanistan, she is convinced that health and educational assistance, especially for women and children, is what Afghans need most desperately. To meet this pressing need, she has created the AFGHAN HEALTH & EDUCATION CHARITY.
