Rogers Wireless
Scammed in extra minutes and charged me for it!

After 6 years of being a loyal Rogers customer under a family plan. I believe it was time to move on because my brother moved out for university away from home, parents dont need it and my younger brother got his own phone with a different company.

I renewed the contract twice (thats why 6 years.) Finally! The day to stop this plan has happened. I gave my 30 day notice on time and everything worked well.
Now the thing is. In my plan only MY PHONE was being used. No other phone for the whole month after my 30 days.

The last day came and i switched over to Fido (still part of rogers but more friendly and understanding). Now Fido was wondering why my number wouldn't port and we had to go through this whole drama with Rogers Wireless.
Finally after god knows how long my number has be port to my new company.

The day of my first bill came in and I was excited (i know you shouldnt for a bill but this was the lowest price i've ever paid for a cellphone. Really a good feeling.)

Strange enough a rogers bill came in the mail as well. I opened it and it shows over $285 in charges. I know. You would be like WHAT!!!??? too.

I called up Rogers and turns out they charged $200 for a ending my plan which they admitted was their fault because i was not supposed to get charged. So they waived that right on the spot (including tax) and then i noticed i still have over $60 (before tax) in charges and i looked through the bill.

To my surprise... it shows that I have been charged for going over 270 minutes on my main phone and charged for incoming on the two phones no one even uses.

The thing is. I NEVER call. I get short incomming calls in the day (no more than a minute) and long ones in the evening where its free. My business, girlfriend, family and everyone emails me or text me (only way to get a real hold of me.)

But all the charges were caused by long incomming calls that went over minutes and then charges after for even the 1 minute calls after.

The funny part is I told everyone my phone is done in 30 minutes and I recived and called from my phone no more than 120 minutes in the day (my plan was 350 minutes for day.)

I talked to Rogers Wireless about this problem because I have had a overcharge error before. But this one they refused to credit back and I told them if they can look in the history to see if this is an error or if any of this ever happened.

What did I get in return? "Sorry sir. But there is no proof what so ever. Nor can I get you any because there is no numbers viewed on the income calls."

And I know that the minutes ARE FAKE because i keep track of all my calls on my Windows Mobile Software.
So how did this happen?

Thanks Rogers. Bet you are rolling pretty hard in your grave.

The over charge error happened to my uncle as well. But they never credited it back to him. They talked him into a free blackberry bold and data plan for their "special". He switched from $35 a month to $86.50 tax/month. Not very smart eh?

Becareful and make sure you check your bills right. I am sure they are doing this a lot.
