On 1/5/05 I searched the web for a Kodak Easy share DX7590 digital camera. The search showed A&M Photoworld as the best price so I purchased the camera on the web site for $349 plus about $20 for s&h. I later received an e-mail with my order number.

The next day I received another e-mail with a phone number that I was to call to confirm my order. I called the number and after waiting on hold for quite some time and leaving several messages I was able to talk to a real live person! This person (Chuck, extension 739) convinced me that I needed to order the extra package for the camera which included a camera case, lens cleaner, 1yr warranty and charger. After getting off the phone with Chuck I calculated the cost and it cam out to $509, not such a great deal any more.

I decided to do some more checking around and called Chuck back immediately to put my order on hold. Of course I was unsuccessful in reaching him so I left him a message with my name and order number and informed him that I wanted to put my order on hold. After checking around and consulting my husband, we decided to purchase the camera alone and buy any needed accessories later locally.

After many more messages and extended time on hold I was finally able to talk with someone. I gave that person my order number and told him my order was on hold and I wanted to cancel my accessories package and purchase only the camera. At that time I was told that it was too late, my package had already been sent to my mailing address and there was nothing that could be done. I then asked about returning my accessoriness package when I received it and he told me I needed to talk to customer service about this matter. I asked to talked to them and he said I would need to wait until I received my package so I could give them the number from the package. I asked if he could give me ANY info on returning and he said that s&h would be my responsibility as well a re-stocking fee.

Later that day I received another e-mail stating that "This e-mail is to update you on your order # 27041683. Your order has been processed and has been sent to the warehouse. You may track your order at https://www.amphotoworld.com/track.asp. We will also send you an e-mail with your tracking number." I never received a tracking number, so here I go again, calling their 1-800 number. When I reached someone they seemed very confused and put me on hold AGAIN! When he returned, he said my order had been canceled. I asked why and he said someone messed up and canceled my entire order instead of just the accessories package. I asked him to reorder and asked for the package to be sent 2nd day no charge. He told me I had to do this on-line.

So, I did! I re-ordered and called back as soon as I re-ordered to make sure that s&h was going to be taken care of. When I did this I was told the camera was on back order for 4 weeks. I was appalled and upset.
That night my husband tried calling and was much more stern with them and was actually able to get the name of someone that was supposed to deal with this sort of thing (at extension 239). He left a message for him and of course he never called back. He then called our credit card company to make sure the first order was credited back. She checked and found that a $509 charge was made 1/5/05 and had not been credited back. My husband explained the situation and she said if there were any other charges from A&M they would know what to do from the note she made on our account.

I called A&M back at that time to find out what was going on with the charge. The recording said they were closed but should have actually been open for 30 minutes longer. I called again the next morning to cancel out the entire order, I had had ENOUGH! I talked to Mark Bergman (or so he said) and have never been so disrespected by a sales person before. I finally was able to completely cancel my entire order. I asked for him to fax me record of the credit and he said that was impossible because they do not fax. He said it would take 4-5 days to credit back our account. I had asked to speak to someone else because he had become so rude and disrespectful and he replied by telling me that I didn't need to talk to anyone else because I didn't have a problem and there was no one else to talk to.

When I told him that their company should be sued for the type of business they were running he laughed and said "Ohhh I'm scared, I'm sooo scared" at that point I decided I would do my part to warn others about this disgusting and dishonorable Rip-Off!
