Polaroid camera i836
Doesn't turn on

I received this camera as a gift and it has never worked properly, it won't turn on, I have changed new batteries etc., and eventually it will come on. however, this time it will not come on at all.

as well my memory card shows locked. I am not happy with this and am on vacation and cannot take photos.
