Direct Clearing House - Gabriel Miller - Gloria Costa
Placed in possible debt due to possible fraudulent act of Direct Clearing House

Direct Clearing House sent a letter stating that I was a winner of $80, 000. A check was enclosed for $2950.47 and instructions were for me to contact my claims agent to give me instructions on what to do. The claim agent as well as the letter stated that a processing fee was needed and that by International law was unlawful to come out of my pocket. The check looked real and the phone call was made to Gabriel Miller (the claim agent) who instructed me to deposit the check into my account and to call him back once the transaction was complete.( he stated he didn't want my checking account number or anything which made me believe he wasn't trying to get over on me) Gabriel Miller as well as the letter also instructed me to tell noone of the winnings due to double claims. I did what he asked thinking and believing my prayers had been answered. The check didn't clear right away and I called Gabriel Miller to let him know that the check was deposited. He asked when would it clear and I gave him the date. Gabriel Miller then told me to call back a feww days later in the possibility that the check would be cleared before the date given.

I called Gabriel Miller back on the date he gave and the check still had not cleared, he instructed me to call him back when it did. The check cleared on the date the bank gave and Gabriel was contacted by myself, at which he instructed me to withdraw the money from my account and moneygram it to Gloria Costa in Canada. Gabriel even gave the nearest moneygram representative address included.

I followed instructions and moneygrammed the $2850 to Gloria Costa and called Gabriel Miller back to let him know that the transaction was complete. Gabriel; said that he would call me back in a few minutes to let me know that the fee had been received and processed. Within 20 minutes Gabriel called back and said the the funds were received and that the information was forwarded to the delivery department and that I would receive a phone call to set up a delivery date and that I would need two proofs of identification.

Two days later I received a phone call from a gentlemen (I didn't catch his name) who said he was from the courier service. He asked me to verify who I was and the amount of my winnings. He explained that the delivery could be scheduled for that day at 4:00p.m. then mentioned insurance. The gentlemen explained that the funds had to be insured before it was able to be delivered and the cost would be 10% of the winnings which would be $8, 000. I gasped and explained that I didn't have that kind of money and the gentlemen asked how much could I come up with, that the money would be refunded as soon as the check was delivered. I told the gentlemen none and he said he would talk to his supervisor and would call me back. (I am still waiting on his phone call)

A couple of days later I called my bank to check the balance to my account and found that I was almost $3, 000 in the negative. Sure it had to be a mistake I listened to the transactions to here that the check I deposited ($2950.47) was returned and I had about three returned check fees plus overdraft fees for transactions that I had made. I imeediately called Gabriel Miller and expalined to him the situation about the check as well as the conversation with the gentleman of the courier service. Gabriel acted suprised that the check was returned and that my prize wasn't delivered, he said he would contact his accounting department as well as the delivery department.

Gabriel didn't call back so I called him and he explained that the delivery department said that I couldn't pay the insurance and insurance was needed just like a car to ensure safety of teh delivery and he hadn't got in contact with the accounting department. Gabriel stated that he would find out and would call me back on Friday (the Friday before Christmas) and never called. I tried to call him on Wednesday due to the holiday and there was no answer. I called on Thursday and Gabriel Miller answered the phone, said he had just got into the office and hadn't turned his computer on to look up any information and that he would call me back. Again there was no call back and no answer to my call throughout the day.

Finally, today I started calling this morning and there was no answer to any of my calls. I finally got to work and called from work and the call was answered. When Gabriel was asked for I was asked my name and placed on hold for about a minute and the gentleman got on the phone stating that Gabriel was away from his desk and that he would take a message. I told him he could probably assist me and explained to him the situation. The gentlemen once again said that he would take a message because I had to talk to Gabriel. I asked to speak to a supervisor and he still said I had to speak to Gabriel because it was his case. I then asked to speak to Gloria Costa (the lady the moneygram was sent to) and he stated once again I needed to talk to Gabriel. I then asked for the number to teh accounting department to get the financial situation rectified because it wasn't fair to me that my account was in the negative because I didn't ask for any of this. The gentleman then stated that he couldn't give people who didn't work for the company the number to the financial department that my agent has to conatct them. I then asked what I was suppse to do? The gentleman asked for my name and said that he would forward the message to Gabriel and have him to return my call. I explained to him that Gabriel has been returning my call since Friday and hasn't yet. The gentleman once again stated that he would give Gabriel the message. I asked the gentleman his name and he replied "Johnathan". I told him tahnk You and waited for a call.

I still haven't received a call and when I tried to call from my home phone I didn't get an answer. I went online and saw that there was a report that Direct Clearing House was fraudulent and I am truly upset. I don't know what to do but I am going to keep trying until something happens.

To all others beware of these sick twisted people who could care less about other peoples lives or situations. Help to stop this type of abuse to people. I want to pursue this legally or whatever way there is to go.
