World Wide Financial - World Wide Fittings
World Wide Financial (A Division Of The World Wide Fittings Inc.) I WON $57grand, and a check too. yeah right? But nobody home and it wasn't even a toll-free number! ripoff

I received a letter from World Wide Financial stating that their network showed I was the lucky winner of unclaimed money in the amount of $57, 000.00 in United State funds (as opposed to United State (s). It stated that my name had been randomly selected through a computerized ballot system drawn from Readers Digest, Publishers Clearing House, Internet Games etc (instead of Games(, etc.)

They were so nice they even sent a check in the amount of $2, 996.84 to cover the administrative payment and clearance fees. The check came from Parkway Bank & Trust Co. and looked totally legit.

The letter stated that for authorizing and processing of your price (?? hum), to contact my agent Lorine Edwards at 1-306-880-1740 and that the winnings must be claimed not later (instead of no later) than July 13th.2007. (not July 13, 2007). It included a claim number and said that they advice (not advise) me to keep the number confidentially secured until my claim is processed and funds remitted as this is part of their security protocol.

Now; I know my grammar could stand some improvement, but the number of grammatical errors in this one letter was very reminiscent of the Nigerian letters we've all grown to love! That was the first clue. Secondly, in the upper left corner of the envelope was the following:
C.P./P.O. 8710 H3C 3P3. Also, the portion addressed to me was poorly spaced, to say the least. The envelope was plain, but the letter was on authentic looking letter-head.

I did call to see what was up, but I only got a recording saying, "Calling not available, please call again."

I spent several hours looking up both companies on the internet. After reading a few scam sights, I suspect that maybe World Wide Fittings, Inc. may be being scammed as well. The check was from them, but the letter was from World Wide Financial. It had their name on letter-head along with, A Division of the World Wide Fittings Inc. I found WWF Inc. on internet. They appeared to be a legitimate business. I also looked up World Wide Financial, but couldn't find a Canadian branch.

I hope this will be investigated, as we are all so tired of these constant scams! Hopefully someone else who might be questioning this type of letter will come across this website. It took a while for me to find it, but thanks to someone else caring enough to spend the time to write about a similar experience, sited your website. I'm so glad I found you.

I will be forwarding a copy of this report to World Wide Fittings, Inc., in order to alert them that someone may have stolen some of their checks and are using their name. I will inform the above mentioned bank as well.

Thanks for listening, and good luck to everyone who is working to bring these scum-bags to justice, and put them where they belong!
