I too like the rest of you have been scammed by this company. Fortunately, I have only spent at total of $4595 on the following three art pieces: 1) 'America Perfume' by Guy Begin purchased for $675 in June 2003; 2) 'Am I Pretty' by Roy Fairchild-Woodard purchased for $2535 in April 2004; and 3) 'Freedom Flowers' by Edna Hibel purchased for $1385 in August 2004. Prior to purchasing the second and most expensive piece, I too contacted the Better Business Bureau in Montreal, and this company was given a great review with no complaints filed.

I was always told by Nigel not to fall in love with the art and I should consider them short term investmets. He indicated he makes much more money reselling the pieces than he does on the initial sale.

I assured him that I would let him resell the pieces and in fact that future purchases by me would in fact be contingent on him reselling the pieces I bought since I do not have a lot of money to spend on art or room in my home to hang or display many pieces.

During subsequent phone calls from Nigel, informed me that it was time to resell my first piece and indicated my piece was in 4th position. He called to let me know when my piece moved to 3rd, 2nd & 1st positions. Too bad, I didn't stick to what I orginally told him (i.e., that I can't afford to buy new pieces unless he resells my other pieces).

Not long after my third purchase in 2004, Nigel told me that Roy Fairchild-Woodard was on his death bed and that piece would soon skyrocket in value. He wanted me to buy more art work. However, I reminded him that I do not have the money or room in my home to keep buying additional art work. His comment was something like "Oh you shouldn't be worried about that, these are short term investments and you'll get back more than what you invested these for when I resell them." I indicated to him you haven't resold anything yet. At that point, he became very rude and told me he would not include me in his next deal. I then told him I could not afford to be included in his next deal anyway.

Needless to say, I've never heard back from Nigel, but other Galerie Concorde sales people have called me. I ask them are you with that art galerie in Montreal. When they respond yes, I just tell them I was scammed three times by you people, but no more.

I also have looked on the internet and found that even today the art pieces I purchased can be bought for less than what I paid for them 4 and 5 years ago. Therefore, I also include appraiser Juris E. Porukus in my complaint (if he even exists). I too would be interested in putting this company and appraiser Juris Porukus out of business. I also will be filing a compaint with the Better Business Bureau in Montreal to forewarn others of this fraudulent company.
