I have a good friend who hired this contractor, Richard Bondu, to do a renovation to his home. It was an addition. They negotiated a price, and Bondu was supposed to complete it in 3 weeks. Now, my friend has nothing but a big hole in his backyard and is out a $6, 000 deposit! When he approached Bondu at his home to find out why he didn't show up for work Bondu simply stated that he no longer had the money and that he gambled it away! My friend has found a "volunteer student lawyer" to help him, as he can't afford to hire a regular lawyer. It is rediculous! My friend got all of the right information from this contractor: business number, driver's licence number, etc, but didn't get references. Bondu claimed he had been in business for 27 years. His landlord said he's only been living in Surrey for 4 months, and he's behind on his rent! Beware of this contractor!
