I bought a snow blower from Sears Canada (Calgary) over a year ago. It is still in warranty (2 years) Part of the snow chute (plastic) cracked and broke in half. I went to the service center to try to get the part. The person behind the desk told me they cannot sign out parts, they need the whole machine. I said "fair enough". Went home, hooked the trailer and brought the whole machine to the store. The woman behind the desk (with an attitude!) said that part is not covered by warranty because it is not something that usually breaks!!! I showed her the warranty and said it doesn't mention anything that supports her claim. She said, O.K. we will get our technician to have a look and see if it is covered or not. and that I will have to pay $49.95 for this, which will be refunded if the repair is covered. I told her what if it is not covered and I decided to do the work myself later. She said, I will still have to pay the $49.95 which is their technician fee. I told her Sears pays the technician, I should not pay him. Anyhow, I decided to buy the part and change it myself. Sears warranty is a SCAM, SCAM as you may know by now. and if you don't, then you have been warned. Neither I, nor anyone of my family will EVER buy anything from SEARS, period!!
