I too like many others met him at both shows I attended in Dec 2007 & at the toronto convention centre and later at the Jan 2008 show at the international centre and was interested in this painting technique but hesitant but did ask how much it would cost he gave a show price of $2500 and it would take about 4 weeks I told him I would take the bike apart he insisted on bringing the whole bike up and he would take the bike apart and this way he could guarantee that there would be no scratch's when I got it back but I gave him a chance to first look at the Bike a Harley FLHT before he would commit to his price but he said if you book at the show special he would honor it.
My mistake begins when I decide to bring my bike up to his shop and leave it there so he can give me proper quote along with a sample of the paint colour I asked for at the show which he said it was at the shop and when i got there he said he would courrier to me, numerous phone calls e mails to find out where my quote is and no reponse and stupid me comes up with another brain storm when he finnaly does call to make a deal that he can use my bike in the upcomming spring show at the international centre if he gives me a good price, long story short i call leave messages emails to see how it is comming and send some pictures no response i am now a week away from the show and getting a little concerned about my bike call the con artist and tell him I am comming up to see the bike and bring some money for the work he has done on Saturday March 29/08 half way up there i get a call from the son and he said sorry we did not get bak to you but it has been crazy up here I tell him I am a half hour away he said I will be here no later do I hang up the phone and the con artist David Small calls me and tells me he will not be there he is with his mother in the hospital and cannot meet with me untill later in the day,
my first response is I am sorry to hear about his mother but since I am almost there and His son Jason is waiting fo me I will meet with him and see the bike and leave the money with he replys that Jason is not there and he does need any money and will call me later i tell him I will saty in Orrrilla and await his call, I get there nobodys there try to see if my bike any where to be seen no luck wait for the conartist to call no call typical.
Now I am really worried and start to call people I Know in Orrilla and see if they know him and can find him and every one I speak to said he is bad news ask one of my buddies to stop in see the bike and take pictures he meets up with Jason and Jason tells oh yes his bike is in the paint booth and he is getting it ready for saturdays show my buddie asked if he can see it he said no he won't allow any one in the booth my friend calls me and tells me the story and again no later than 30 sec i get a call from the con artist David Small telling about the story of his mother and that the bike has been clearcoated and will begin putting the bike back together in the afternoon I say great I will be there in the morning to look at it he replys no do not bother because it proabbly will not be complete because his staff will no do any thing with out him being there, so I decide to call the international centre and see if he is booked a booth and if he has enterd the bike in this week's show they say no and alot of people are looking for this person. So the next day I go up there with my trailer and two of my employees to retrieve my bike as well called the opp get there nobodys there knock on the door phone the number leave a message no answer and let him know I have called the opp and they are on the way. With the help of the opp I got my bike back in the same condtion in which i dropped it off lucky for me he did not do a thing to it and i had not given him any money.
I would like say Thank you Very Much to the Orrilla Opp, and people if you have dealt with this con artist do not listen to his lies go up there un annouced and get your property back do not use any violence they are not worth it Just call the Opp they know the Smalls all to well.
