I was hired to drive truck for Backes Trucking of Naicam SK.
Was employed from Jan 19, 03 to Jan 28, 03 I was injured at
work on Jan 24, 03. Employer requested I sign condition of employment before starting work, driver contract promising 30 cents per mile.
After being injured on Jan 24, could no longer continue work because of injury. Employer requested that I stay with equipment till alternate driver could be found. On Jan 28/03 alternate driver took over truck at employer's discretion. To this day I have not received any money or wages for work performed.
Backes Trucking has been contacted by Canadian Federal Labour Board on numerous occasions and has refused to pay me wages for work I performed on their behalf.
I drove 2778 k, even when I offered to settle for $300 just so I could put an end to this. They have avoided paying!
Is this the kind of trucking co. that you would like to have business dealing's with. I think not. They couldn't give a shit! about anyone but theirselves. Drive by their home in Naicam Sk. two brand new chevy pickups, three semi-tractors, all kinds of atvs. it's fairly obvious that they have profited by dispensing this kind of deception.
The wheels of justice turn
very slowly and by the time I get a judgement from these bastards they will probably be trucking somewhere else, under a new name, ripping off more people. They advertise for driver, s on HRDC job bank and newspapers in Saskatchewan.
