Willis College hired me as an independent contractor to set up their new Personal Support Worker program, which I proceeded to do. When they failed to make any attempt to acquire students for the upcoming term I had no choice but to move on to other employment since there would be no work forthcoming at Willis College for at least another semester. My final invoice for the last 5 hours of work setting up the program for the next instructor when they eventually acquired students has been refused. My immediate supervisor has left.
Not paying for work done in good faith as per agreement is highly unethical.
The amount of money involved is too small to make it worthwhile to pursue legally but this behaviour by a legitimate Canadian college is deplorable.
