I have been working for Mcdonalds for 5 years i have been hired at 3 locations and have worked all over the Toronto area I was suspended for 2 weeks (for a no call no show) and since I had another job I was only working at this location once a week.
I have gone out of the city for a few days with my family and my shift was on saturday... I called but did not get any answer..i returned to work the following week and worked my shift. after returning home from my shift a friend/fellow employee phoned me and gave me the message the a manager had told him to tell me that i was fired after discussing this with another manger i was told that i was not fired but suspended for 2 weeks and at the end of my 2 weeks i was told to contact the store manager to see when i could return to work.
after trying to contact the store manager for 2 weeks (leaving messages, visiting the store and tried to have a meeting with him 2 times and was told the "he was busy")during this 2 week period I contacted Mcdonald's head office about the manager saying i was fired and that she told another employee was to tell me that i was fired
to which mcdonalds said that they would look into the situation.. so as i was on a 2 week suspension and after 2 weeks of trying to get in contact with my store manager i was sent a record of employment in the mail and that was all i recieved.
I was not contacted by the store manager of mcdonalds head office but simply given a record of employment and that was all
Since the 4 months i have not been working for mcdonalds I have heard of atleast 1 incident of the same action taken aginst a felow employee
