I contacted a loan company in my local newspaper. Alot of these ads are probably used across the country. These ads claim that they can get you a loan of a certain amount. So what I did was called a number, gave them some information like my name, ss#, monthly take home pay, loan amount requested. They then told me that I would be contacted in 3-6 days.
I received a phone call from Wealthworks Management saying that I was approved for a loan in the amount of $5, 000. I was given 3 options for the loan. I decided to go with the security deposit in the amount of $797.00. At the time I didn't have a co-signer or any property that was worth what the loan was approved for.
I was told that once they received the money that it would be deposited into my checking account in 1 week. As of today I still haven't received my money and I've tried contacting them and the number is no longer connected. Be careful about these ads in the paper. They all probably work the same.
