Made contact with this Company morning of August 16, 2012. Searched the net for a limo/taxi company offering "Senior Discounts". In making a search for a taxi service from my home to the airport, my search engine "Yahoo" brought up this company. I went then to their website "https://www.halifaxairporttaxis.com. The price listed for the area I live in was "53.00" which would get me to the Halifax airport. I then called them. The price given to me over the phone was "$55.00". I asked about the discount for seniors. The gentleman who spoke with a foreign accent, and with a very sharp tone made note that the $55.00 was the price for the trip I wanted to make. In attempting to note the website information, he became quite obstinate about that information and in a very unpleasant manner was not interested at all of what was there and even spoke over any question I had. He only wished to inform me without question, that they'd been in the business for many years and I was still getting a better rate then other companies. As to the website, it didn't matter what was stated on it, the price would be $55.00, not $53.00 and there would not be any senior discount. Not only did this individual strike me as being very indignant to a possible customer, but for the first time in my senior experience, leave me feeling quite ashamed that we have those in public services in the Halifax area who feel it is alright to intimate their customers and that is my reason for making this complaint public.
